The Liberian Association of Michigan (LAM) has honored the National Executive Vice President of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), Mr. Gaye D. Sleh, Jr. The honoring took place at LAM’s 6th Annual Heritage Program in Detroit, Michigan.

Presenting the Certificate of Award to the ULAA Veep, LAM President Kandakai Sherman pointed to Mr. Sleh’s invaluable contributions and support to that ULAA member Chapter over the years.

A similar certificate of appreciation was awarded to prominent Michigan community members Sardia Taylor for her unflinching support to the community.

It will be recalled that while serving as the ULAA Northern Regional Vice President, Mr. Sleh spearheaded the ULAA Northern Regional Soccer Tournament which was hosted in Detroit last August

Accepting the honor, the ULAA Number 2 in command thanked President Sherman and the LAM membership.

He assured LAM of the Union’s continued support and openness for cooperation in the years to come. The Veep extended the ULAA Family’s warm greetings to the Liberian Michigan community on behalf of National President Anthony V. Kesselly.

The Vice President extended invitation to the people of Michigan to attend the historic ULAA inaugural ball slated to take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 14.
