ULAA Elects New Board Chair, President-Elect Congratulates Hon. Tehmeh

Friday, Oct, 31, 2008

Hon. Andrew Tehmeh: ULAA Board Chairman

The National President-Elect of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA), Mr. Anthony V. Kesselly, is extending congratulations to the new Chairman of the National Board of Directors, Honorable Andrew Tehmeh of the Organization Liberians in Minnesota (OLM), for his elections two days ago at a special session of the ULAA legislative organ.

Also receiving warm sentiments from the President-elect is the new Second Vice Chairman of the National Board, Mr. Sam Garwo of the Liberian Association of Wisconsin.

Mr. Kesselly is assuring the new Board Leadership of his readiness to transact Union business on the basis of mutual respect, rule of law and courtesy.  He said the Board and the National Administration have a lot to do when he takes over at the constitutional end of the Wettee Administration about a couple of weeks from today.

Mr. Kesselly requested the ULAA officials to make room in their schedules to travel to the swearing in ceremonies which will be announced immediately after the National Elections Commission certifies the Pittsburgh election results on November 4, 2008.  He disclosed that the swearing in ceremony will take place in the “ Windy City ” of Chicago , Illinois , on a date that will be made public immediately following the certification of the elections results by November 5.

The new Incoming ULAA Boss said he looks forward with a lot of optimism that the Union Leadership will once and for all use the period immediately following the official take-over to straighten the Union, deflating the existing tendencies to cause distractions and obstructions that have become common place in ULAA for the past several months

It will be recalled that in early October this year, delegates from the various ULAA member-organization s converged in Pittsburgh for the 34th National General Assembly at which a new corps of national administrative leaders were elected.  Those elected along with Mr. Anthony Kesselly were Mr. Gaye D. Sleh as National Executive Vice President, Mr. Isaac Zawolo as National General Secretary, and Mr. Emmanuel N. Togba as National Treasurer.  The four regional vice presidents elected were Mrs. Menseh Jones of New Jersey for the Eastern.

Region, Mr. J. Siaka Konneh of California for the Western Region, Mr. Oblayon Nyemah of Minnesota for the Northern Region, and Mr. Robert Garguah of Georgia for the Southern Region.

Reliable information coming from inside sources has it that a major inaugural bash is in the works for these new leaders in Philadelphia soon.
